Members Helping The Variety Club of Great Britain
Apart from helping its members. the Derws also works for the wider community. So far the Derws has:-

Made donations to various organisations:- The Junction Play-group towards running costs; Derwen Deg for talking books; St. David’s Hospice and to Hope House.

Presented to Junction Youth Club a colour television; a play-station; two dance mats and dance games.

Cleared the waste land in Maes Derw, which had become a meeting place for youths drinking alcohol and taking drugs

Members have taken part in a sponsored walk, raising funds for the Variety Club of Great Britain (raising £200).

Cleaned the War Memorial at the Llandudno Junction Memorial Hall after it had been vandalised with paint.

Local Children Enjoying our 2003 Fun Day
As part of nationwide celebrations to commemorate the 25th aniversery of Neighbourhood Watch in the UK, in July 2003 the Derws held a family fun day for the community. It was an enjoyable day for all the community, especially for the children who received free food and a small gift to take home!

The Derws Playing Field
in 2002 the Derws successfully petitioned the local authority (Conwy County Borough Council)for new playing field equipment. Thanks to help from County Councillor Gwen Hackworth we were also able to raise funds for vandal-proof fencing making the play area a safer place for young children. Also, through writing letters to the council we now have six dog bins in the playing field.

After All Their Work Members Relax
Now and then Derws members get together and enjoy a relaxed evening out. As you can see from the photo, on occasion even the older members can let their hair down!

Thanks to the Royal Ancient Order of Buffalos the Derws was able to hold its 2003 Annual buffet at their Llandudno club.
