In response to a kind invitation from Denise Idris Jones AM, On Tuesday 27 April the Derws committee paid a visit to the Welsh National Assembly in Cardiff. An early start meant that we arrived in Cardiff late morning. Our visit commenced at noon, when Denise’s son who works as her researcher/secretary met us in the foyer of the Assembly building and escorted us to the cafeteria. After meeting Denise over lunch we were taken on a tour of the building and then had the chance to visit her office where she told us something of the Assembly’s work. Later we were able to see the Assembly in action in the visitors area of the Debating Chamber.
